 Scuola di Musica di Fiesole

Founded in 1974 by Piero Farulli, violinist of the legendary Italian Quartet, it has been 40 years that the School of Music of Fiesole is an international point of reference, with 1,300 students, 7 orchestras, 6 choirs, 140 teachers and over 200 musical appointments made every year.

Tremendous amounts of musicians from Fiesole who are active in concerts, have been able to acquire the necessary professional skills through the “Orchestra Giovanile Italiana” - one of the most fruitful educational projects of the School which helped them to Find places into orchestras worldwide. 

Extraordinary artists have made available for the institution their teaching methods and also their concert performances: among others Riccardo Muti, Salvatore Accardo, Luciano Berio, Claudio Abbado, Carlo Maria Giulini, Maria Tipo, the Trio of Trieste, Natalia Gutman, György Kurtág, Gabriele Ferro, Krzysztof Penderecki, Daniele Gatti, Pavel Vernikov, Gianandrea Noseda, Giuseppe Sinopoli. 

Recently accredited with a ministerial decision releasing a Diploma of AFAM I level, the School of Music of Fiesole has added to the multiple collaborations already existing, a three-year agreement with the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg, which covers various common projects, including this year, the equipping of the Mozartian masterpiece “La Clemenza di Tito”. 

All along from the state-of-the-art in the field of the musical literacy of young children, the school has activated a didactic experience completely free of charge and in a manner of collective learning in a multi-ethnic and peripheral neighborhood of Florence, forming one of the cores of the Italian system of orchestras and child-youth choirs.

In addition, from Fiesole - in collaboration with the University of Florence - a project of the first Master postgraduate level I has started to form the operators of this type. 

In 2002 the school relies on the ECMA (European Chamber Music Association) together with some of the most European prestigious musical academies. The formative international path thus created allows many of the string quartets of the Academy to impose themselves in large international competitions such as ARD of Munich, Haydn of Vienna, Shostakovich of Moscow, Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and Prague. 

The activity of the School, the Artistic Director of which is Andrea Lucchesini, since 2008, while Lorenzo Cinatti as Supervisor from 2012, is made possible by the economic support of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities of the Tuscan Region, of the Province, and the Municipality of Florence, and the Municipality of Fiesole. The Institution of Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze is an irreplaceable patron of Fiesole projects, and there are also many private individuals that make available for the most deserving students various scholarships, as recently arranged with a meaning full gesture by Claudio Abbado, by devoting salaries of lifetime Senators. 

The Abbiati Premium received in 1981 is the Best musical initiative. T In 2005 Carlo Azeglio Ciampi then Republic President awarded the National Prize. In 2008, the Japan Arts Association awarded the Imperial Premium Grant for Young Artists.

 Fondazione Sequeri Esagramma ONLUS

The Sequeri Exagram Onlus Foundation was established in 2014 as an nonprofit making private law institution, ONLUS for expansion and consolidation of the research action incurred over the years by the laboratory of applied Musicology (1987-1998) and by the Social Cooperative Esagramma. The Mill of the Notes, “Onlus”. (since 1998). 

The Esagramma® methodologies of Orchestral Music Therapy (MTO) and Inclusive Orchestral Education (EOI) - are unique in Europe and defined in over 30 years of reflections, experiences and interventions with more than 1500 users - have demonstrated how the orchestra can be both an educational field and a clinical and unique social integration. On this particular integrated context, are based, widely tried and tested methodologies of Esagramma, both at a the clinical level (towards children, young people and adults with difficulties) and an educational one (for children and adults in school age). Even in situations of important physical, sensory, psychic and mental impediments the Music Therapy Orchestra and the Educational Inclusive Orchestra have particularly turned out to be suitable for the construction and verification of the qualitative dimension of existence and for identification and personal integration. 

Through the voice of musical instruments – “Esagramma” operates with the instruments of the classical Orchestra Sinfonica and with reprocessed classical music scores - it is possible to express and give a meaning to their silences and interior moods, making them from time to time gestures, colours and ways of being. The Orchestra Sinfonica gives to each musician a way of giving life, host and share through the rhythms and melodies of each musician, his artistic and expressive abilities. It is stimulates also the overcoming of their fears and difficulties. 

The activity of Esagramma consist of four major fronts: 

Its therapeutic and educational itineraries - unique in Europe, have involved more than 2000 young people with disabilities in thirty years - revolve around three years of Basic Orchestral Music Therapy (MTO) and Orchestral Inclusive Education (EOI), which provides for the active involvement of students and therapists in small integrated orchestral groups, the assumption of psycho-pedagogical pupils and the release of personal profiles aimed at the reinvestment of communicative and relational skills. 

The therapeutic and musical education programme for young people with disabilities integrates the courses of MTO with individual or group sessions of IMM () and EVA (paths that are intended to convey the acquired results of the musical work in the area of personal and collective communication and expression. More than 500 young people with disabilities were involved over the years. The paths of orchestral education today are also offered to children and young people with Learning Specific Disorders (DAS: such as: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, …) and Special Educational Needs (BES). English Camp Orchestra (ECO) anticipates orchestral education inclusive of expression and prosodic interaction sessions, in English, with the participation of native speaker experts. The Esagramma Symphonic Orchestra (active since 1997) is made up from thirty to sixty elements (from half to two thirds with intellectual and Sensory important disabilities and professional musicians), it is the natural destination of persons who attend its therapeutic and educational itineraries. Its activity is set as a professional moment, the result ofwhich will be returned and donated to parents, friends and spectators as a process of a personal growth. More than 300 concerts were held in Italy and abroad (USA, Germany, France, Hungary, the State of the Vatican, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria): in important theaters, basilicas, festivals, conferences and academic fields (even within the UN and UNESCO). 

The research, creation and exportation of educational inclusive models, today expresses itself also: - with the support for the use of Esagramma methodologies in public and private music institutions, education and rehabilitation; with the support for the creation of new centers which are employing the Esagramma methodologies in Italy and abroad (since today: 14 in Italy and 1 in France); - with the participation in some international meetings (more than 200 in the last 20 years even within the UN and UNESCO); - with the publication and presentation at international meetings of articles (more than 150), books (4), orchestral elaborations (more than 200 of which 15 SIAE deposited); - with the interdisciplinary research of psychological, musical, anthropological, linguistic computational-, cognitive, and context bioengineeristic, clinical and Educational contexts, today realized in the PITCH lab that allows the study of the linguistic and vocal interaction with the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Polytechnic.

 Fondazione Spazio Reale

The “Spazio Reale” Foundation represents the operational continuity of the Founder, which is: The Parish Center of Spazio Reale, branch of a non-profit-making-organization located in San Donnino (Firenze) and is legally operating in activities of social and intercultural cohesion from 1 January 1999, while the parish church has been working on these issues since the nineties.  

The Foundation shall exercise activities of production and exchange of goods and services of social utility in the following sectors: education, education and training; provision cultural services; provision sporting facilities; organization events, conferences, performances and manifestations. Organization of exhibitions and establishment of exhibition spaces; social tourism; hospitality; social assistance, reception and integration; rental of audio-visual instruments and equipment for events.

“Spazio Reale” is an agency accredited by the Region of Tuscany and by the Ministry of Education, University and Research for the vocational training business and teachers.  

Spazio Reale is a "Digital citadel of knowledge". In particular, is a: Center of Studies, research and promoting social activities; training center; guidance; accredited PAAS and TRIO point; receptive place and guest house for Italian and foreign students; offices center for co-working; Conference rooms; event center; sports and recreational center; bar and restaurant.  

Spazio Reale is the most flexible and dynamic multifunctional center of the north-west area of Florence, equipped to host conferences and exhibitions of national and international level. All spaces, both internal and external, of the Spazio Reale Foundation are certified D-4001 from Dasa-Rägister S.p.A. in order to give full accessibility to persons with disabilities.

 Centre de la Gabrielle et Ateliers du Parc de Claye - MFPASS

CGL is a non-profit organization, founded in 1972 by the French Federation of reciprocal obligation for Public Employees. The Center de la Gabrielle is, today, an organization with 300 employees who provide assistance to 450 people: children, adolescents and adults, suffering from mental and/or intellectual disabilities.

The services available to those suffering from intellectual disabilities are eleven: a medical and educational center for children, a training center for adolescents, a special unit for people with autism spectrum disorders, protected-work programmes, residential services (residences of art and life), home care services and excellent services to families. There is also an employment undertaking programme adapted and protected for the development of the autonomy and skills of adults.

The Center de la Gabrielle aims to develop new solutions in order to provide the social inclusion of people with disabilities by applying the principles to independent living and inclusion in the Community according to Article 19 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the European strategy on disability 2010-2020.

 University of Usak

Usak University is a young and lively university founded in 2006 in western Turkey. It consists of 12 faculties, 9 colleges and 3 schools of specialization with more than 22,000 students who have the opportunity to grow and mature, thanks to a varied formative proposal and a wide range of activities.

The staff consist of 412 academics, who are dealing with lessons, research and 376 administrative personnel.

The primary objective of the university is to be recognized as a respected university community in the field of science and knowledge. 

Usak University is part of a European university town closely linked to the growing agricultural province, commercial and industrial Usak. It is situated in the western part of Usak and is well served by the motorway Ankara-Izmir. Away from the complexity of the city, students have the opportunity to choose between numerous cultural and recreational activities. The most common are musical, theatrical and artistic performances by local and foreign artists; sport events which involve the teams of the university are also frequent. Furthermore, there is a variety of recreational and entertainment activities organized in playgrounds in the green surrounding areas of the university or/and near the nearby lakes.

In scientific areas, the contributions in research have been very important, always in continuous development; in this way, the Usak University is able to make available for the entire nation their knowledge and specialized services.
